SRP or TDR — which word is the right one
They are not alternatives. TDR is the clause; the SRP is the software. GSAR 552.216-75 says you must report your transactions monthly; the FAS Sales Reporting Portal is where GSA wants them. A contractor asking "how do I do my SRP" and one asking "how do I do my TDR" have the same problem in front of them.
The vocabulary is shifting. Since MAS Refresh 31 made reporting mandatory across all SINs, more people name the portal than name the clause. That matters only in that searching for one and not the other will hide half of what GSA has published.
Getting in
You sign in through Contractor Login on the portal page. Multi-factor authentication is required, and GSA validates your identity by checking your email address against the one held on the contract file. If that address is stale — a departed employee, a changed domain — that is the thing to fix first, and it is fixed with GSA, not with a tool. Nobody outside GSA can grant or restore portal access.

The choice is mostly about volume, and it is worth making deliberately rather than by habit — form entry against file upload covers where the line falls.
What the portal will not accept
The official Excel Upload Reporting Template v4.2 forbids extra sheets, changed formatting, changed column order, blank mandatory fields, and formulas or macros. That last one is the trap: you may not build your automation inside the template, so every month has to end in a clean file of values. When an upload comes back rejected, the cause is usually one of a small set of faults.
